Engaging my Services
I do, wherever possible, try to ensure that my services are aligned with the participants goals to ensure I am doing the right thing as a business and that the client will be reimbursed. Implicit Simplicity is a Sole Trader Business and not directly affiliated or registered with the NDIS. I use the codes and payment structure inline with the NDIS standards and set out in the NDIS Price Guide.
Onboarding Process
· Free 20 minute phone consult to ensure my services are appropriate
· Look over the NDIS plan (if applicable)
· You will be given the Price Structure and Item Codes, Terms and Conditions and Service Agreements.
· Sessions take anywhere from 1-4 hours and you can assign the time you would like allocated to your support needs. Sessions work at your pace and focus on what you want to achieve.
Clients will receive a free 20 minute on-boarding consult call at no charge to ensure I can assist them before booking an appointment. I will look at their NDIS plan (where applicable) to ensure my services and codes align with their plan. Clients are provided with the fee structure and codes I use for my services and a copy of the Service Agreement which is signed by both parties.
Individuals Values and Beliefs
Clients are supported in their values and cultural and religious beliefs. They will be not be encouraged to change their belief systems or act against their cultural beliefs. Values systems will be encouraged and continued to develop in a way that is authentic to the individual as a means of self-growth and capacity building.
Person-centered Support
Implicit Simplicity aims to provide a tailored service for NDIS participants or private clients. The sessions are run in an environment that adheres to their particular goals and preferences. This might mean they require a session at home, on the phone or out in the community. The sessions are guided by the client and their needs on the day. We take the session at their pace and address concerns they bring up. It’s an organic process and it’s tailored for every individual.
Clients have the freedom to choose how, when and where their sessions are held as long as they are in line with their NDIS goals (if applicable).
Termination of Services
Services can be terminated at any time should the need arise; I do prefer a conversation occurs first to better understand how and why it is necessary and to see if any accommodations could be met to better serve the clients needs. As I am not a qualified mental health professional it’s recommended that clients with mental health concerns see one to manage their mental health regardless of if they are using my services or not. I will not be addressing any underlying mental illness. Instead, I aim to support the client to make life changes, set goals, and practice new ways of thinking. If this process is difficult for clients, I urge them to discuss this with their mental health professional/s and to remain open with me about how the process feels for them as it is a approach tailored to the individual so it can be modified in a variety of ways. In some circumstances it might be appropriate to stop sessions with clients if this process is not something they are enjoying or benefiting from.
As the service provider, I maintain the right to terminate services for any reason I deem fit. These may include mental health issues being too entwined with life coaching and it becoming unethical to coach them as they require further support than what I can provide and we have been unsuccessful in ensuring that the line between the role of a therapist or mental health professional and a life coach isn’t crossed. That is to say that if a client places me in a position of acting in the role of a trained therapist and we have failed in mediating this issue in order to continue providing support in the expected manner of a life coach, services may be terminated immediately for legal reasons to protect both the client and myself.
Other reasons for terminations may include:
• Crossing the professional boundary between friend and coach
• Explosive or hostile reactions or violent, unsafe or threatening behavior
• Drug or alcohol use during sessions or being under the effect of drugs/alcohol
• Frequently missing appointments or cancelling within 48hrs of the session time.
• Failure to make payments
• Inappropriate implementation of advice given
• NDIS not covering the services provided for applicable clients. Including any changes in goals or plans
All appropriate steps will be made to ensure any issue that could lead to the termination of services have been brought up with the client and they have been made aware of the issue and given a chance to rectify it.
Cancellation Policy
Clients are asked to cancel their appointment within 24hrs of the session time. If they are NDIS participants, the NDIS permits providers to still claim the full fee for the cancellation of the session. If they are a private client there will be a standard $50 fee for cancellations within 24hrs. These fee’s are negotiable in circumstances of hardship.
